Default HELP! Problem with my Citizen Calibre 2100!

All,

The Citizen Calibre 2100 Eco-Drive has an alarm function. There is a recessed crown at the 7 o'clock position. To set the time of alarm, the crown can be pulled out to move the red hand (shown at 12 o'clock). Then, the alarm can be toggled between on and off by pushing in the same crown. The indicator hand will move from "ON" to "OFF" with each push.

Now, I can't seem the toggle between on and off. The crown will not push in. However, I can still pull out the crown and set the alarm time.

From the picture below, one will also notice that the indicator hand (at 7 o'clock) in neither on "ON" nor "OFF" - it's way north of "ON".
Has anyone had a similar problem with their Eco-Drives?

Funny thing is, I never use the alarm function. Now, the alarm goes off at 12 o'clock every day!!

Thanks,
KAI

This can be a minor problem. Assuming you're in USA, I would send the watch to COA (Citizen Of America, which by the way uses to patrol the watch foruns, dropping by ocasionally to answer questions about their products. They are awesome.).
I have all 3 configurations of this watch - SS black, SS white and Ti grey, and all mine are tip top. If I were in your shoes I would send it to COA, like I said. This is an extremely well made watch, and its movement is very intrincate, like some reports about it sugest. Not easy like a 6309 to be tinkered with, imo...

Good luck!
Regards,
CHRIS

It may have a reset function. I think you can re-zero most chronograph hands. You might be able to do that with the alarm hands as well.
Here is a link to the manual:

I'd try the all reset function, then try to reset the alarm and see what happens.

Hum... I've got the trio and none of them ever did that. I was able to reset the chrono second hand to zero with the reset procedure

Best of luck to ya,

Looks like something got broken in the movement my friend ??? .

The E2100 movement is a delicate beast and only especially trained Citizen technicians can get near these watches.

If you still have the warranty, bite the bullet and send it back to COA. Most likely outcome is that they will replace the entire movement (Only full repairs can be done back in Japan).

Don't even try to fiddle with it, just send it back and let Citizen deal with the problem.
