Default Scratching an itch, SKX033 mod

Ive be lusting after a particular watch for some time now, and i often find myself dribbling down the window of the Ernest Jones shop in town.
I think the counter staff think im kind of stalker and the window cleaner gets pretty peeved at having to clear the snot marks from the window after my visits.
At 3.2k i cant justify the purchase.
So whats a WIS to do?

Well i spotted this SKX033 in Ramons little shop of horrors, a bit pricey at 50 but those monster hands will come in handy for a restore or another mod so i bought it.

Click on the pics to enlarge.

Out goes the worn out and rusted 7S movement and in goes a new NH35 with manual wind and hacking. I have to use the original SKX dial/movement spacer as its slightly higher than the one that comes with the NH. to do this the date wheel needs to be removed, and as the dial im going to use has no calendar complication ive left the date wheel and its components out.
The 7S stem is one piece and wont work in the NH, so ive had to use an AM crown, then trim and screw in the NH stem

For this mod i have used a generic Rolex bezel insert, the size is close but it sits higher than the SKX crystal, so i have installed a slightly thicker crystal, the insert now sits nice and flush with the crystal. I had to stick the insert in as the O/D is slightly smaller.

Guessed what is yet?
Dagaz dial and hand set and its all together.
I have sterilized the SKX chapter ring and had to enlarge the internal diameter as it was covering over the chapter ring on the dial

that did come out really, really well...

do you know the inside and outside diameter of the bezel?
i'm looking for a 6106-8100 insert and having a hell of a time,
i think it's 31.25mm x 36.25mm. someone said a non-genuine
rolex insert might fit....

If you're asking for the insert measurements, they are 37.8mm OD x 30.5mm ID for the SKX031.

Good luck with the search.

looks like i might have found an nos bezel and insert on scwf, it's
pricey, but it's going to make the watch, and these things are hard to
find, so i am very grateful. 6106-8100 had very odd dimensions, not
much fits....
