Default Seiko dial doubt (original or mod/repainted?)

Hello!
I'm new on this forum and I need your help.
Recently I bought some vintage seikos, sold as completely ORIGINAL by the owner. I payed for them a lot of money by my red flags started when I noted that the dial of the 6306 Scubapro would be a repainted dial (may be from Loyswatch).

Still under the surprise of believe this dial repainted I started to analyze the rest of the seikos, and I have doubts of those:

What do you think??
Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for your reply. The first pic is a 6306 Scubapro. I believe this is a repainted dial

The last two pics (6105-811x and 6105-800x dials) no doubts they are aftermarket? I can see differences between the suwa icon of those tow dials and the first 6105-811x dial

ScubaPRO is reprint. 102%. I'm sorry.

Others, pics with some angle on hour markers would be better.

Ask MOD if he could put this thread under "THE JAPANESE WATCH DISCUSSION FORU".

Regards,

Hrvoje

All AM inserts. The first 6105 dial is genuine with original hands.

The seconds 6105 has an AM dial and hands.

The third 6105 had AM dial and hands.

However, they're scary. The lume flatness and the dot in the Suwa logo are about the only clear signs. Maybe the shape of the minute markers too. However that's worryingly good and enough to really put me off spending any big money on a vintage 6105, especially if I was looking for a first one now.

I would say so. If it was me I'd be looking to return them all for a full refund. Even if I wasn't 100% sure on one of the watches I'd have no trust in the seller based on the other ones. The ScubaPro dial is not even a good reprint.

This thread really should be moved to the main discussion forum.

Which are the main characters to know the inserts are AF?

wow, really scary how good they are.

And now someone can take that AM dials and relume them. And lots of us could be fooled they were really ORIGINAL RELUMED dials.

I'll stick to 6309/6.

Scubapro - the Seiko Logo doesn't look right. The "O" in particular. Do you have a closeup of that one?

I'd say "buy the seller" - and if he shook you down with at least two 6105 AM dials, you can be sure there is something fishy about the rest.

If they are so better did dials, are not there doubts the are legit?? May be those suwa icons are from a earlier period? I can't note other differences between both 6105 dials except the suwa symbol

What's the caseback say on the 6105-8000/9?

The hands on the 8000/9 may be genuine

It'd be great if you could remove the bezel and show the underside of it and then also remove the dial and show the reverse.

Edit. Obviously don't do this if you haven't before and especially not if wanting to be able to return them. But I don't know how long you've had all these...

But it can also be that the dial is original - but refinished with AM markers, which now are not twenty pence flat/round plastic? As seen on earlier AM pieces....

I will go next Friday to my watchmaker, an old seiko deleader to inspect all those watches. Could help the examination of the dial plate isn't? But on the scubapro dial, I think it has an original 6306 plate but it has been repainted

You told me what you spent on them and i wont share that info to anyone but i would without a doubt try and get your money back. Alot of aftermarket dials, hands, and inserts on your watches. Some sellers have no shame in fooling buyers especially if the buyer dosent know what to look for. Not sure if you bought all of these in a lot or individually but unless you have any kinda proof that they were described as all original it may be hard to get your money back.

On your scubapro - even script "SCUBAPRO" looks quite OK, but it is Loy's "refurbish" - relumed, reprinted. Script SEIKO, WATER 150 RESIST is blurry and "JAPAN 6306" has even wrong font....

It even fooled me at first, didnt help that i had just woken up. But the more i look at it the more i can tell. The "S" design in scubapro is sloppy. Also the "E"s in water resist are completely off. The middle line in the "E" should be shorter than the top and bottom lines.
