Default Casio G-Shock MRG-2100 - I got a 'Grand-Seiko' level G-Shock (mini review)

Casio G-Shock MRG-2100 - I got a 'Grand-Seiko' level G-Shock

I have not lost my way. I just took a short break to discover the wonders of G-shock. I have been a good boy for many months. Other than spending some lunch money on relatively low price Casios, I did not really purchase anything beyond US$200. However, after contemplating for weeks, I finally succumbed to my desire to own the 'cream' of all G-shocks. You can call it the Grand Seiko of G-shock too.

When I was ready to purchase the watch, it was out of stock. Apparently, it is very popular in Japan, and the production could not keep up with the demand. I have to wait about a month before the watch is in stock in most shops again. The watch retails for 85,000 Yen (about US$770).

It is extremely comfortable on my small 6.5 inch wrist. I have to admit that G-shocks especially those from the Mr-G range (high end G-shocks) are really interesting and very collectible as they are rarer than the normal Gs.

Here are some pictures from Watch-Tanaka website. All the pictures were awesomely taken! Thanks for reading. Hope to come up with a better review soon. It has been a while since I last wrote one.

Far be it from me to be critical of your watch or your taste, but I have ask if you've ever actually seen a Grand Seiko or held one in your hands?

At least to my eye, the idiom of their design is totally different from that of G-Shock. I'm not saying one is better than the other, that's a matter of taste, just that they are completely different.

He's not comparing an MR-G to a Grand Seiko. He's saying that the MR-G is to G-Shocks the same way as the Grand Seiko is to Seikos. They're the top tier watches of their respective brands

WOW! Such an impressive watch!
I like the clasp and the braclet Seems very comfortable. And the Blue lights from both sides of the case are also pretty nice.

That's a very impressive MR-G. The only comment I'd make is I'd personally prefer to see it all analague (like the G-1000 and similar series) rather than ani-dig.

Love the bracelet on those. I had an MRG and really like the lock on the clasp.

Thumbs up

Geez that's a nice looking G-Shock, it dosn't have that Borg look, kind of classy, for lack of a better word. Like the band too, the center links almost look like ceramic, and looks comfy.
