Default Orient M-Force WZ0221EX

This is a Japanese Domestic Market from around 1998. Part of the Orient M-Force history.

First released in 1997, the M-Force range stands for 'Mechanical Force'.

Specifications:

Orient In House automatic. Non-hand wind and non-hacking movement.
Power Reserve approx: 40 hrs
Diameter: approx: 40.8mm
Thickness: approx 14.4mm
Water Resistance: 100m
Power Reserve Feature
Date Window at 4pm
Rotating Compass Ring
Integrated Style Bracelet
Screw Down Case Back
Safety Clasp on Bracelet

Impressions:

The first impression that this watch gives is of being solidly built. A tool watch look with brushed stainless steel bezel and bracelet. The bracelet is solid links with pins and is of good quality. However, the bracelet is let down by the standard clasp fitted. These clasps were common at the time the watch produced. A clasp similar to the Beast would have been more appropriate in my opinion. That aside the watch wears well and is comfortable on the wrist.

Date is set using the usual Orient push button at the 2 o'clock position. The crown at 4 o'clock is used to rotate the compass ring.

The bracelet is held in place by the usual spring bars. The design of the case makes it look like it is held in place by the four 'screws' on each side of the lugs. Personally, I would have preferred if they had been there for that purpose.

The dial is wonderful tangerine orange with a textured middle and a metalic sheen in the right light.

A wonderful part of the Orient M-Force history.
