Default Review of 50th Anniversary Orient M-Force World Time Limited Model CEY0000AW0

Orient Watch Company celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2000.. To celebrate they produced a few limited edition models of which this Orient M-Force World Time was one.. The CEY0000AW0 was produced in a run of 1000 and came in a special rosewood box with a certificate signed by the Director of the Orient Watch Company of Japan..

Quick Specs:

*Model Number: CEY00004C
*Orient automatic in house movement (non hacking and non handwinding)
*Limited edition to 1000 pieces
*Accuracy: +25 to -15 seconds daily
*Water Resistance: 300m
*Date and Seconds sub dials
*Power Reserve Display
*40 hours power reserve
*Interlocking adjustable GMT ring
*Screw down crown and case back
*Diameter 44mm (not including crown)
*Thickness: 16mm
*Lug to Lug: 48mm
*Lug Width: 21mm

This is a big but also comfortable watch to wear.. The stainless steel bracelet is 21 mm along its full length and has a double lock clasp.. Unlike the other Orient World Time watches that I own, this one has the city ring moving counterclockwise as the hands move, as opposed to the 24 hour time ring..

The dial is very nicely decorated silver with orange subdial hands and is easy to read.. The city ring is a nice pearl white.. The case back is convex..

Lume is OK, but nothing to shout about.. It does last for a good part of the night..

While this is not a dive watch, it has depth rating of 300m..

The 24 hour ring turns without any clicks and only using friction.. It is very tight to move, which is not a bad thing as you are unlikely to need to move it once set.. In fact it makes more sense to set the city ring using the crown at the first setting..

The watch is engraved with its number/1000 on the left hand side..

I understand there was also a two tone model of this watch in another limited run of 1000..

Great! What I'd really like to know is how many Orients do you have exactly?! grin:
