Default NOS 6306

As Ive posted in the Trade section many times over; I would really like to own a 6306 in as best condition possible. I already own several 6309s but theres that added kudos with the limited 6306. I absolutely love the iconic design and it holds its own against anything from the higher end brands of its era.

I seen this on ebay and at first thought it was priced a little on the high side. Understatement!

https://bit.ly/2Ecv5MP

I kept coming back to it, pondering it, trying to justify it further each time.

I know its dear but how often do they appear in this kind of nick!?

I know I should stay away but I dunno. Its just stunning...

Are these cold dark days finally getting to me and am I being silly?

Well that price truly is a dreamer dreaming big. But make him your best offer what's to lose?

I have already exhausted my best bids! What I thought was reasonable anyway.

He may have just got his maths wrong in the yen to pound conversion,
The guy seams to have sold a few watches over the last month on ebay and indeed many before that, but all his watches at a quick glance are priced on the higher side of silly- but he's selling them...

New here,
may sound stupid, but can you post a pic of this specific model? as I am not sure which one it might be, the 6306 that is.

Thanks

There really is no telling just how smart this guy is. He could have asked a reasonable price and gotten it. I think he has gone and asked the moon, thinking that, what the heck, there are people out there who are simply in the mood to spend. He knows that no one will offer more than he is asking but instead perhaps a bidding war may break out if there are two or more who want it. I was watching a Mecum classic car auction the other day. Its common for bidding wars to take place and the final selling price to be well above what was expected. This is the gift buying season we are in right now, and while some people are spreading out their money evenly amongst 10 or more family members, there are also those people who have only themselves to buy for. And those individuals just may be willing to spend what they need to, in order to get what they feel they deserve. Merry Christmas one and all ! Tis the season to be happy, whatever it may cost !

Almost $5,000 and he had to put in the description "it works". What an ID10T!

haha,

worse than that, the condition is "good"...for this price, it should have original box,
papers, tags, strap, have been hermetically sealed in a 0% humidity environment
for all these decades, and include round-trip tickets to tokyo with great accommodations,
and even then, it would be overpriced....and yes, i've seen this guy's offerings before,
they're ludicrous, and my guess is, ludicrous people with ludicrous budgets are coming in to play....hold onto your 6306's.... and 6105's...and...

ah, i see it has a box and papers, that is unusual, what do people think
those things are worth? unfortunately, on e-bay, things are worth what
someone's willing to pay. at least that's fairplay..,.and on scwf, i have
experienced some fairly unfair play...

Well, there’s no doubt it is a very beautiful 6306. The caseback with most of its original sticker, and the lovely deep red of the Water Resist suggest it has spent a lot of time sitting in its original box. This is a watch I would like to own and I would bid strong money for it in an auction. I would like to see him list it for the highest bidder..... !

Lovely watch in unusually good nick, but the seller must have been having a giraffe.

Warning .. never buy through that eBay seller. He never owns the items. He lists other people's items that he finds on Japanese auction sites but adds a huge mark up. If you win his eBay auction he then keeps his fingers crossed he wins the real auction for less than you paid.

Really? Have you got any further proof to back your statements?
Regardless of the crazy price, if this is true than the warning in general is very welcome!

This is the link to the genuine seller, who is not the same person selling on eBay.
