Hard to tell with those distant pics. Do you have any close ups?
Then again I'm no Pogue expert but I'm sure someone will chime in.

Based on my humble experience, I can't spot any obvious warning signs. The case seem to be in decent shape too. Is that an original bracelet on?

Kellyr147-Welcome to the forum. Look around our forum and many of your questions will be answered through reading and research here. This Pogue looks pretty solid to me too. The inner rotating ring isn't white of course but instead faded yellow. The lume on the hour and minute hands looks pretty nice too as does the central seconds hand and sub seconds hand is proper with consistent fading throughout. The bezel has a few dings but has the proper inner edge slope and number 5 configuration. Serial number of: 702473 dates this 6139-6002 at October of 1977 which is basically appropriate for the non 70m water resist dial (blank dial). It's always good to get a look at the movement if possible but just from general view it looks like water or moisture hasn't been an obvious factor but there is no way to know for sure without getting a good look inside and an assessment from a trained pro. Other than the usual wear and tear and fading this looks like a nice example to me, bracelet included is nice as well. Price seems in the ballpark with the deal getting better and better if you can get it for less than what's requested. Again, welcome to SCWF ! A great place for the Seiko and Citizen watch owner, lover, collector. Let us know how it goes with this piece. Research it as well as possible, especially from its current owner and become a student of the brand and model. The passion is infectious and powerful !

Great response Chronomaster. May I add that the dial has the proper text at 12 oclock (3 lines, SEIKO, Chronograph, Automatic) as it should for a -6002.

The bracelet seems to be OEM but polished, and is incorrect for a 1977, would have come with a tapered bracelet.

Only you can decide if it is or is not worth the asking price. At $450 it should be 100% working properly.

Thanks for all the fantastic advice and views. So, I've took the plunge and purchased the watch for 425. I've been assured that the inner bezel works well, date changes works, keeps good time and stopwatch works. Doesn't look like the case has been polished. Will update when the watch arrives. Cant wait!!!!!!!

Thanks for the added info Jon, great points.

Kellyr147- In your description you mentioned the seller was asking 450. I thought you meant USD. If you are thrilled at the prospect of spending 450 which equals $592 USD, well then that is up to you and as Jon stated above, it should be working properly. Just be aware of the fact that the purchase price is the starting point in the hobby for you. It would be prudent for you to have it checked out by a knowledgeable repairperson near you or someone on this forum for proper timing, new case, crystal, crown and pusher gaskets among other assessments. Please, atleast until you have it tested, keep it away from water of any kind. I wish you great success and happiness with your new Pogue. Keep us advised of your progress and post a wrist shot when you can.

So the watch has finally arrived. It's better in the flesh than in pictures and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Everything works perfect and case not been polished by the look of it. The only thing I've changed is the strap, not convinced that was the original. I get why these watches have such a following. It's fantastic.

I know that this thread is a little old but it appears that the regular seconds and chronograph seconds are slightly different colors of red. I believe that the large seconds may be from an early model but I might have this reversed. Not a big deal though either way. How is the watch running now that you have it for a while?

HI,
I have owned several of these, my fist one came from a military PX in NC in 1970. It has been a while since I have owned one, but if I recall I thought that most Seikos had some sort of Japan marking a the bottom of the dial?

I stand corrected, I now see it on the sides of the "6" position
