Default Can anyone identify this old seiko?

Hi - new to the forum, hallo all.

I am having a hard time identifying or finding any info about this old seiko. I think its a railway model but to be honest, I do not really know, so any help will be great.

This is the description I have:

Name: Vintage-Mens-Seiko-5-SS-Automatic-Railway-Timing-DD-Wrist-Watch-1970s-Ex-Work.jpg

No... the seller is from New York in very good ebay standing.
The watch was described as "Vintage Men's Seiko 5 SS Automatic Railway Timing DD Wrist Watch 1970's Ex/Work". Gave google run for its money but to no avail.

All # from the case back would be helpful. Movement- case and serial.

its probably 80s and not 70s. Caseback info would help indeed.

I know...I did not get it yet, and i will only see it in a few weeks. So I can't see the details on the caseback. I tried running the photo on google, but to no avail .

Somewhere in the vicinity of a 6309-5000 or thereabouts...

6309-5100?

So yeah, late 70s to mid-80s.
Seiko also made a very similar model with a 7009 (or maybe 7019?) movement.

One of the many "Railway dial" styles.
Usually 7009 movement inside

Looks like someone's been "working" on it though. Judging from the photos the date has just ticked over at 05:35 instead of midnight.

Mmmm...interesting point. Could that be a close relative (close but not quite The Seiko 6309-5100)?

6309-510a looks like a match?

it's not a match, but its as close as I've seen so far - meaning its a very close relative. The 6309-5100 is a bit more square and the inner dial is different (two hights).
