Default Early Seiko Super on its way!

Hello folks.
I am new here and I want to thank you all for being such a wonderful mine of information about Seiko's, I thoroughly enjoy learning about them and hopefully that small amount of knowledge I have acquired has steered me in the right direction with my latest purchase.

It's a 1950's Seiko Super. The seller has good feedback but with him in Japan and my Japanese being non existent and his English broken it's been hard communicating so I have taken a chance with this one, well. It's only money!

I am not new to vintage, I have around 60 vintage pieces so I am hoping my instincts have not been wrong but this one feels right.

It's not the shiniest of examples, I have seen a number from a seller in the US but they have been overly restored for my tastes and I would rather have honest patina than shiny new pin look with my vintages.

I have no idea what the movement is in this one and am not quite sure if the crown is correct but it does look similar to other supers of the same video vintage.

The case is in really nice condition for its years.

I think the thing is with this one it's completely heart led so it could turn out to be an angel or devil, when it gets here I shall find out! I like as well that this is probably the first time this little ( 32.8mm according to the seller) beauty has left home.

If anyone has any information on these supers I would love to know!
Thanks for looking and thanks for a wonderful forum.

Here are some shots from the seller including the caseback I posted on another thread of which I cannot find another example in terms of markings.

Thanks speedseiko. Once it gets here I will post movement shots. According to the seller the movement has been checked over and is working well and keeping good time.

Can't help you without seeing the movement, but have a look at these old posts:

I've got an early Seiko that I think is from the same era... The dial states Chronometer, it's small, ladies size really, but I know nothing about it. So I will be pleased if anyone can enlighten me:

This looks to me like a caliber 10A, http://seikoholics.yuku.com/sreply/7...ibre-10-Family

That's interesting Jonas, I think that is indeed it. I seem to remember being told it was from 1946 but I have nothing to support that date.

Well, the Movement was produced from 1946 to 1948, so I'd say now you have something
I own a Cal. 10B with exhibition back, that's why I got interested in the caliber 10. My 10B movement is not as beautiful as your 10A, however...
