I am not a business
One of my hobbies is looking for lost treasures, mostly toys and watches.
Living here in central New Jersey I can find almost anything. I have been selling on ebay since 2001. I view it as nothing more than a big yard sale. I do not consider myself a business. Sometimes I can find something that someone can use.
Ebay has been increasingly more difficult to sell on. I am expected to ship an item within 24 hours as well as pay for the shipping and return shipping, yet the buyer can take a week, not pay, and continue with their 100% rating since the sellers cannot write a negative, and to top that off I am expected to give a 30-60 day return policy on a used item for parts or restoration.
Ebay considers everyone who sells is a big corporation. I am not Amazon or Walmart. If your next door neighbor has a yard or garage sale does that make them a business?
I recently sold a used 18mm silver toned stainless steel Orient watch band. It was clearly written in the description and title that it was silver toned as well as numerous pictures, one showing the lug width with an electronic caliper.
The winning bidder from nearby Brooklyn, NY wrote to me after he paid for it. Luckily I read his email before shipping it out. I canceled his winning bid.
Below is exactly what he wrote to me. I can accept the typo errors but not the rest...
"To this Bender I need information about this watch bracelet I see the pictures and it looks goldish rose gold color this is what I need in a watch band the bib that sits around the watch is about 18 or 22 mm kindly send me this item immediately I will view it if it's not towards my requirement I have to ask for a label send it to me ASAP the same way that I'm paying you today I appreciate the donation if I keep it God bless America to whom we stand United We Stand as one together all amen!!!. Send me a message as soon as you collect the money!"

Yes, I’ve mentioned numerous times, eBay has lost its way, and eventually it will fail. The people that it was initially aimed at do not sell on it now. It’s to much hassle and to expensive with far to may rules etc.
I buy from dealerbay when I need something as all the main shops and motorcycle vendors are on it, so it’s easy to use, better than phoning or the like.
Only purchace watches from the forums, like this or people I know.
Just had a fantastic trouble free easy transaction with Jon, (grammar of design) why use eBay?
