Default My Collection

Hi, my fascination for 1970s digital watches lead to a constantly growing collection of LCD Seikos. At one point I lost overview and decided to take photos, shoot videos and put it all online. Like that me and maybe you can enjoy the virtual collection or even use some of the provided information as a reference.

Default Seiko 0124-0019

This is my 1975 Seiko 0124-0019. A very interesting design as all the settings are adjusted via the crown and there are no additional buttons. One of my favorite watches in the collection.
More details on this 0124-0019 can be found here: http://timeartpiece.com/watches/seiko-0124-0019

Default Seiko 0634-5009

My 1976 Seiko 0634-5009. With its clean LCD and solid bracelet I prefer it over the 0634-5000/5001.
More details on this 0634-5009 can be found here: http://timeartpiece.com/watches/seiko-0634-5009

My 1976 Seiko 0634-5019. Massive for its time and very 1970s! it's a classic and one of the watches I wear frequently.

Good reference for these models - well done. Oddly - I'm also kind of interested in the Tin-Can demonstrator display also.

Thanks. The tin can is kind of high tech as it contains a stepper motor that is controlled via an Android app over WiFi. Maybe I will introduce it in another thread some day.

Thanks guys. The 0124 differs from other Seiko digitals of the same age. It has the Daini Seikosha crest mark on the dial. The crest mark on the 0634 for example indicates that it is from Suwa Seikosha.

@Pippy IG yes.

Default Seiko C359-5000

Some of my favorite digitals from Seiko are the calculator watches. Although kind of useless they are well designed and quiet nerdy.
This is my 1979 Seiko C359-5000 and more details can be found here: http://timeartpiece.com/watches/seiko-c359-5000-black

Default Seiko C153-5009

As already mentioned Seiko's calculator watches are my favorite digitals. The C153 is well built and with a bigger size than the C359 also fits bigger wrists.
This C153-5009 was built in 1977 and more details can be found here: http://timeartpiece.com/watches/seiko-c153-5009-silver

@Pippy the bracelets of 1970s Seikos are my favorite ones. The bracelets of current Seikos are one of the reasons why I've never bought one.

Hi friend, I love viewing your stuff on instagram. Nice to see you here. You have fine taste – these are interesting pieces with historical import that is far from negligible.

Thank you @mncz, when I started going public with my collection I was kind of surprised that there weren't more digital enthusiasts out there. They are somewhere but obviously don't have the same sense of mission and they are of course a minority.
In my opinion vintage digital watches are an important part of history as they where representatives of the rising microelectronics industry. Which of course made them soon ubiquitous, cheap consumables. Which is probably one of the reasons that makes them less desirable as a collectors item.

My Seiko 0624-5009 is online: http://timeartpiece.com/watches/seiko-0624-5009
It's a work in progress and needs the polarization filter or the whole LC panel to be replaced.
