Default Hi guys...my fisrt Seiko!!!!

Hi guys,

I'm Gianluca (spider3ple) from Italy - Rome and I'm very happy to be here.

What about my Seiko 6139?

Yesterday I changed the bracelet (aftermarket) with a leather vintage strap.

Thank you.

SPIDER

Welcome Gianluca - I hope this does not come off wrong, but your watch has many signs of a watch that I would not have bought.

I hope you did not pay much for it.

If you have any questions regarding vintage Seiko chronos or divers, or anything Seiko related, really - you have come to the right place

Okay, 200 Euros is not what you'd have paid for a pristine example, but... It's a lot of money for:

* Case is polished with very round edges
* Very corroded dial
* Hands and dial are relumed (no so bad, but not very good either)
* Chrono hands are repainted
* Bezel insert is aftermarket
* Chapter ring certainly has seen better days. Lume triangle looks crude. Does it rotate?
* Aftermarket bracelet (but you know about that)
* Not sure about the crystal. Maybe it's an original that has been polished.

Edit: Sorry for the harsh words right after you registered here. I wish I could have spared you... Where did you buy it? Was it serviced?

Mr. Jones, your words are not harsh but, otherwise, very useful and fair...thank you for it!!!
I bought the watch from a private seller. He said me that it was checked. Now it runs well and even the Chapter ring runs well in all directions. He, also, said me that the crystal was polished to the clockmaker.

I'd like to buy another chrono Seiko (6139 600X or 6138) in original conditions, but where???

Thank you again!!!

I'd start by reading up on the model you are looking for.

https://www.thewatchsite.com/21-japan...ns-review.html is a good starting point.

It will help you to differentiate between the fakes and the real ones. It also shows a lot of nice variations of the 6139-600x range.

Fantastic!!!

I start immediately looking for a seiko (6139-600X or 6138 ).

I hope to find it here!!! It could be better and safer for me!!!

Thanks again.
