Vintage Citizen Production Dates
« on: July 12, 2010, 08:51:29 AM »
Although there isn't a production date calculator (as for Seiko) available for Citizens, their use of consistent serial numbers from around the early 1960's allows production dates to be identified. As with Seikos the decade in which the watch was produced has to be determined, but this cannot be done from the serial number - my Citizen Movement table will help with that, see the separate thread or go here: http://seikoholics.yuku.com/sreply/1895

The attached .pdf file provides guidance on how to use the serial number to determine production dates:

Edit: 13th July 2010 - added brief notes to the guide to clarify the period to which it applies, see Version 1.1
