After I bought my first 4s15 watch movement in 2002, I started a quest to get examples of all the 4s series watches that Seiko makes.  Here are some photos of the 4s12 automatic.  I think this watch was part of the SUS line, and came in bright red, bright blue, and black dial versions.  There are a small number of other 4s12 watches made in the mid 1990's, but I didn't like their case/bracelet designs enough to buy one.  Here are the photos of my SCFF005, SCFF006, and SCFF007 watches.  Cheers, John.

p.s.  I don't know if this really qualifies as a GMT watch since you don't set the GMT hand in this watch, you simply use the second crown to move the internal bezel to adjust for different time zones.

A fine-looking trio.  Thanks for the "eye candy".  :great:

Thank you for sharing an interesting shot of three models not often seen.  I also appreciated the info on the 24-hour hand- I did not know it was non-adjustable.  So that makes the 4S12 similar to the 6117 movements in that regard.  Neat to know!

nice set...had the black 4S12 but the outside lug kept digging into the wrist....wrong size for me...so I eventually sold it off.

Very nice collection John, many thanks for sharing and also thanks for the movement info - I had no idea that the 4S12 would be operated comparable to the 6117/6217!

Another question though: you mention that there are further 4S12 watches? Do you have any info in these, too?

Best,
Hermann

The Seiko 4S12 GMT is a hard watch to get a complete set of in:
a) Immaculate condition.
b) With a full set of links.

Some time ago I managed to get an NOS red dial, then an immaculate black dial all with a full set of links.  It took me a long time to find an immaculate blue dial but this was missing one link which means a lot of people cannot wear them including me.

I recently bought a red dial version in very good condition from a SCWF member for a link.  Expensive link you might say but this make the blue dial version wearable now.

The next question now is, what to do with a very good condition red dial version missing 2 links.

Find someone with a small wrist and sell it on!

Congrats on finding a full set.  I am lucky that mine all came with all the links, so I didn't need to buy a 4th ! !
