Arnie bezel: Best way to make this fit?
« on: January 03, 2013, 08:22:31 AM »
Gidday all,
I bought a replacement Bezel insert from Yobokies, and it looks like for some reason it's my actual bezel that's too small for it to fit.

7s26b provided me a link to axb's thread containing the original measurements for the Arnie bezel, and mine's a bit off.

axb's measurements:
Internal:  30.55
External:  36.44

Yobokies insert:
Internal:  30.38
External:  30.46

My bezel insert:
Internal:  30.36
External:  36.17

Options:
Press it in with a crystal press?
Buff the outside of the Yobokies insert?
Anything else?

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex, is your bezel smaller, or the insert? sometimes the lip on the bezel can get apparently smaller because of being peened over due to lots of knocks over the years. Some people use a crystal press to slightly deform the insert ( like a cone) before fitting.

I learned from Swedefreak to bend the insert into a slight cone before pressing it it. This preserves the factory "peen".

Best wishes,
Myles
