No pictures handy but hands down the best Russian made mvmt made were the deck Chronos made by Poljat for the Russian Navy. They have 22 jewel gold plated mvmts with geneve Stripes and really look like quality Swiss Mvmts and are very accurate too. I bought one many years ago.

For the most part the mvmts in the new Vostoks are from when the Russians bought the old toolings from the Swiss in the 1970s or 80s. Unfortunately those have worn out and the Russian made replacements are far inferior.

How abt those vostok movements like 2432? They are decorated movements with 30 hrs reserved when fully wound.

KGB Vostok amphibian. Doesn't say whether it was made in USSR or Russia. Keeps decent time.

Here's one that i'd forgotten about, I managed to buy it very cheaply as it wouldn't wind up, the ratchet wheel had lost it's screw but it wasn't inside the watch

I had to go through loads of scrap watches before I found a screw to fit!!!

The missing screw is at the left hand side..

Fitted and working fine now!!

Amphibia caseback..

Here's another i'd forgotten about, someone has removed the enamel from the dial and the hands need replacing but the movement is quite nice..

It needs a crystal too!!, I have loads of crystals so I could replace that but it seems a waste of time when there's nothing on the dial

I've always had a grudging respect for Ruskie stuff. Given the quality of materials and tooling they had available, it's amazing how tough and reliable they managed to make a lot of them. They're a bit like American clocks in that way - "true collectors" tend to sneer at them but they did what they were designed for, at an unbelievable price, and in many cases are still doing it!

The only one I have to hand at the moment is this Poljot. Haven't decided on a strap yet but found it in a spares batch and just loved that dial! Stainless case as well, so the looks should last. Allowing for the overhaul time, strap, new crystal etc it'll almost certainly end up as a technical loss-maker when it sells but hopefully someone will appreciate it - it adds a little variety to stock anyway

Here's my two Vostok Amphibias. One is stock (with a different strap to better emulate Steve Zissou's watch) and the other has had the bezel replaced.

the Slava Stopwatch, Kaliber 5498, 20 jewels, 36000 A/h, Rattrapante (split second), and column wheel!

those watches were in space on the Spacelab MIR or SOJUZ-14 and SALJUT-3 missions.
