WRUW Sunday CWC RN Auto diver
« on: January 22, 2012, 04:00:13 PM »
:57:  OK,ok. I know it's not a Seiko but here is my first incoming of 2012. I just had to get this as I used to use the quartz version when I was a Ships diver in the RN. Sorry about the crappy quality of the pic, the light is poor here today.
Non-Issued CWC RN auto Diver. ETA 2824-2 movement with 25 jewels, 20mm fixed lug bars. Bought new in November 2011.300m water resistance. Wears quite slim on the wrist and I am very happy with the time keeping and tritium painted lume. A great daily beater.
Regards. Kev

I got one of those when I was serving in Iraq a few years ago.  It was a good watch but the lume flaked off the hands and sat on the dial.  I got it exchanged but the same thing happened again so I flipped it and bought a SKX007.

The 007 is also a good watch but no hacking feature so useless for synchronising.  I'm deployed again at the moment and I'm waiting to see my next purchase which has arrived in the UK from Japan.  Katsu from Higuchi couldn't get it out to BFPO but I'll collect it in a couple of weeks when I go on leave.  It's a black Sumo.  Hacking, handwinding and (hopefully) killer lume like the 007.  I just hope it doesn't get too roughed up.

Sumos glow like a nuclear accident.  They're a great movement.  Most guys I know baby them; only seen one that saw actual working use - when he posted pictures you could almost hear the gasps because the bezel was scratched.  I never wore mine enough to do anything to it.

still wearing the 6309-7049, part of the January Watch Challenge group.  Ignore yesterday's date there - same watch different day
