Am I allowed to name the seller on this forum, I am quite new here and not sure if that breaches any rules?

Not had a reply back from him yet and would not wish to damage his reputation if it is a genuine mistake or oversight, although the crown screwing down is pretty fundamantal.

A very experienced member who has reapired and stripped amy 6309's explained that if it is the crown threads it might not be too bad to repair but if its the tube threads then I am in trouble!

In my mind it should not be my problem at all the following wording I have cut and paste from the Ebay listing, I am going to go for a full refund, the experience has put me off, no doubt its going to be a long drawn out affair.
ORIGINAL STEM (male/female type) engages hands and day/date wheel as it should.
ORIGINAL CROWN screws at around 2x180 degrees turns.
Comes on English and Arabic Day wheel.

Believe me I have learned my lesson but the Ebay seller was reccomended by another member who had made a couple of purchases which had been excellent and the sellers feedback was very good indeed and this is what swayed me.

The seller has not responded yet and so I cannot take judgement on how he will react or what offer of help or refund will be forthcoming, we will see. I am currently highest bidder on a 6138-0011 with a sticky subdial and hoping to get outbid, but in this case the seller has been open about the fault. I must try harder to stop impatience affecting my judgement!

I am hopefully going to secure a BNIB spork today so that will be something positive to look forward too.

Believe me I have learned my lesson

Since you started looking there have been some nice ones on our own TF at reasonable prices from 100% good guy members yet you still went for a Philippine special ?

Well we have all paid $$$s to learn it is part of the "fun" but the secret is to learn :)
I have been in Deepshit many times; the older I get, the easier it is  to get there. I actually kind of enjoy it there :)

I have indeed learnt my lesson and will be mush more careful from now on, I am now on the hunt for a sound example and will have it refurbished myself.
