Shure that you need a new one? Or is the spring only unplugged from the barrel arbor (like I demonstated in my photo)?
If there is nobody else who can give you a alarm spring, I will extract this one for you ...

Thanks so much Peter, i can now understand what may have happened. Guy i bought it from said he got it serviced before sale. Perhaps the spring was assembled incorrectly and was just barely in the slot. All my googling didnt come up with the pic you have posted which explains more than words can.


I will check this tonight.

Just stripped out the spring and it is indeed broken . It was in place on the arbour and mounted correctly on the driving pin for about 1 maybe 1 and 1/2 coils but was broken about 10mm from the driving end............sooooooooooooooo, i will indeed need a spring after all.


If anyone has a good one to sell  to save stripping a good working movement please contact me. If not i will take that one Peter.
