twentyseven stones on a pile of stones
« on: July 02, 2011, 06:27:26 AM »
Ahh,
I just got my 4005 back after a few weeks at the spa :-).  Some cleaning, oiling and polish of the crystal and its ready to serve again.
I like this one – the "datejust"-version of belles with a matte dial.

Still looking for the prefect strap for it though, this one is a bit boring (any suggestions?)

Speaking of bad pics/ads (and ebayseller firefly) mentined in another thread, this time,
I´m glad i took a chance, bidding on this one even if the sellers pics was crap and the sellers descripion in the ad was close to 0.

Is that plastic?

Beautiful watch and perfect SPA treatment!

Concerning the strap: I agree that the watch looks just a little bit boring on the black leather  ;)
How about a medium brown strap with white contrast stitching such as on your white/silver belles?
I generally prefer medium brown leather (unless I have the original SS bracelet), IMO, it would make a perfect contrast to the black dial.

Worked very well on my blue LM, IMO (sorry, no Belle on leather at the moment ;-))!

Best,
Hermann

A nice restoration that turned out very nice, a classic :)
I have been in Deepshit many times; the older I get, the easier it is  to get there. I actually kind of enjoy it there :)

Thanks guys!

Hermann, you are right – brown will add somthing to the watch. I'll try that.
