What's with the Philippines?
« on: June 09, 2011, 01:48:22 AM »
I am somewhat of a newbie, so go easy on me  ;)

Why are the majority of large-cased Bellmatics on Eb-y being sold in the Philippines or Thailand? I have seen a few lately in the UK, but it seems to be a rule that whenever I see something that I really like (large cases in particular), they are from one of those two places? Were different styles marketed toward different nations?
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."--John 14:6

More Seiko's sold in that market than anywhere else. Seiko's were quite popular in the UK in the 70's. Also in poorer countries I daresay when the quartz revolution came in, a lot of people hung on to their older watches if they still ran, in more affluent countries I'd say they were binned and replaced by a quartz.
