:57:  John i actually also like the Pink,My Daughter always commented on the colour whenever she saw it.It is a nice watch,Plus when i put the oyster on it i feel it made it a little more substantial on the wrist.Im happy you did end up with it John. ;)

After having the last one which i REALLY dident like i wasn't expecting to like this new one at all................but I actually quite like it and wore it all day, ok you could nit pick about the colours and build quality etc but i was pleasantly surprised and very happy to wear it and look forward to getting some decent pictures with it.

Also my wife thought the pink bezel was my inner sensitive side finally showing through   ;)

The Orient World Traveller meets the Queen of England !!
« Reply #52 on: March 20, 2011, 02:38:29 PM »
Well not quite but i did take it for a look around Bradgate park in Leicester (UK) and it is in these grounds that the home of Lady Jane Grey sits.

Lady Jane Grey was Queen of England for nine days and then executed (beheaded) for treason !!.

The park is very popular with visitors all year round whether just for a breath of fresh air, a pick nix, work out or just for sight seeing in a very pleasant and relaxed setting in the country, the park is also home to about 300 deer.

Notice the police station at the entrance to the park that houses mainly in the summer the police presence :)

Must be a well-behaved crowd attending.  That blue "jail", if that's what it is, couldn't accomodate too many rowdys. ;D

it might be for solitary confinement, except that there's too many windows and it's too out in the open

Unless I misread, that's the police office, not a jail.  Not very big for either.
Some of those, a few of these and a couple of the others.

Great pics John.    See that you are well into early Spring as well.

When I saw the deer, I wanted to start stalking

Thanks for the show.   Can't wait to have it travel across the pond to us Colonials.

Cheers,
Daniel

Great photos!!!  That looks like a beautiful landscape.  Must be nice to walk through.  Is Lady Jane Grey's head lying around anywhere?

Great pictures - I've always wondered how these big old stone houses ground down so far - where did the walls go??  Same wondering about all the old cathedrals and chapter houses dotted around GB.

Nice pics, looks like a lovely day in the UK.

I was in London a couple years ago for 10 days, it rained the entire time. :(

Yup just watched an episode of Dr.Who, that police station belongs to Dr.Who.  :D

Wonder if the Orient is water tested and will somebody do some diving? hehe.

If the collectors in NYC areinterested, maybe we can get together and give the traveler a collective welcome over beers, somewhere in the city after work.  Surely lots of good pics can be had that way.

Gabe that would be a great Idea.I must revisit New York Soon as i was only there for 4 nights the last time and im sure i did not get to see even an Eighth of whats on offer. My Favourite part when i was there was to stand in the Lobby of the Plaza Hotel where they filmed my Favourite Movie Barefoot in the Park in 1968.I also made the Trip to the Museum to hopefully see the Painting by Monet which was stolen in the Movie The Thomas Crown Affair only to be told it was actually in Wales in the UK SO I could have stayed home and saved a fortune!!! :57:

That painting used to be at the met, but I don't think it was theirs.  I think it was on lona and might have moved on.  I do remember seeing it there years ago.
