Getting into vintage hasn't been my cup of tea, but I have to admit that I think this watch is totally awesome.  I really like that the case is asymmetrical due to the crown guards on the one side.   O0

Throwing it on one of William's repro waffle straps gives it a decidedly vintage feel as well.
Oddly enough, I never liked the 6105-811x case when I first saw one, and even after warming to it, and owning a few of these over the years, I could never settle on a strap. The 19mm limitation, and the case size always were a stumbling block. I tried everything ever discussed in the countless 6105 strap threads in every watch forum under the sun LOL!

I always fit a cut down Z22 on my 6105's.

The extra width stops that skinny look of a 19mm.

Has anyone tried one of Will's 6105 repro. straps on a 8L35-0010 Marine Master?  I'm wondering how noticeable the 1 mm gap will be.  I don't feel like pulling the strap off my 6105-8110, so has anyone else done this?

Best,
Myles

Gentlemen.  The commentary's on what constitutes a fake versus a reproduction and the merits of making them available to collectors continued despite or requests to stick to the original topic or start the discussion on a separate thread.  In addition, the argument began to take on a very aggressive tone and we received a few complaints.  As a result, all commentary regarding the merits of fakes versus reproductions have been removed from this thread.  Please feel free to continue the ORIGINAL discussion in this thread.  anyone wishing to discuss the merits of product labeling, please start a new topic (or find one already started), discuss the topic there and most importantly keep the comments friendly.

Thanks for understanding.

OK, now I'm intrigued, and might look into getting one.  The narrowness of the design, which some feel to be a negative quality, is actually something I like.  I don't like fat bands or bracelets, and the narrow look would help the wonderful profile and outline of my 6105-8000 stand out.  IMO.

how much are they?  I missed that part, though it is probably obviously posted somewhere...

I'm willing to bet they look super on a 6139-600x.  I love the MM on my -6005's.

I posted to see if anyone was using one of W. Jean's straps on a 8L35-0010 Marine Master, and you deleted my post.  I ask again, is anyone using one of Will's straps on a Marine Master?  Is the 1 mm gap noticeable?

Best,
Myles

EDIT:  Sorry, I see it now.  Post was not deleted.

Money well spent and Will's a fantastic guy to deal with. Go for it, Spencer! You're on a roll with watches, now start down the slippery slope of straps!  :)

Hi  I have been waiting for my second order, that I put in as soon as my first Order arrived 10 Days ago  Very Quickly.  So I trust the Response to these Between the Forums and Ebay
may have been much Greater then Expected?   A Testimony of how nice they are, I could never imagine  that after all the Effort put in by William and his Crew they
would not be prepared to Fill every Order?
Thats My Thoughts and the Reason I felt Fine sending the ones I sent to Friends, before the second order arrived.

Received my two straps this week and I'm very happy with them.  :great:

Just thought I'd add this pic in the spirit of Jason's excellent review to show the differences he has already raised in respect of the buckles and tongue.
Mark II (left) and my original (right).

The buckle in Swedefreaks post of the broken strap does look more like WillJ's buckle though.

The other small difference here is that the three raised 'bars' (long pyramids ?) on the keepers seem to have a more clearly defined edge down the shorter sides on WillJ's example almost as if they are one block, whereas the originals appear more like three rougher individual 'bars'.

All very minor differences and the important thing is that the spirit of the original is captured and they are a very comfortable strap.
Just that one other issue that'll split the camps.
