REDUCED

This is a rarely seen vintage Seiko: the 7006-8030 sport/diver watch. It features a 42mm steel case with screw in caseback, 46mm lug to lug pillow case, friction dive timer bezel, stick handset, day/date, and 18mm lugs. The bezel has a slanted coin edge, similar to the Certina DS3. It has the caliber 7006, 19 jewel automatic movement and quickset date. I believe the serial dates it to 1972.

This particular watch was recently serviced and is keeping excellent time. The crystal is new and scratchfree, but the dial and hands are original and in excellent condition. The lume on the hands and dial still glows, although not very strongly after 40 years. Day and date change at midnight. Case has a few scuffs and such, but looks very good. It is rated for 70M WR, and has withstood showers and swimming, but as a vintage watch it is not warranted for deeper use. The bezel turns tightly with a new gasket holding it firm. The insert is the only thing on this watch that is only fair - it has alot of wabi but can still be easily read for timing. It is on a generic soft rubber strap with fliplock deployant.

If you are looking for a nice vintage Seiko that you won't see on anyone else's wrist, that keeps time extremely well, and doesn't cost very much, this is your watch! (Don't buy it if you are looking for a like new, modern diver).
