This is the second mall it has closed it's store in .Those of you not in Canada won't be familiar with this store called La Swiss . First it closed in Fairview Mall ( Toronto ) and now in Yorkdale Mall ( Toronto ). Still open in other malls though. They only sell watches and very high end Swiss one's at that .Also sell some inexpensive brands as well .

Does this signify that the high end watch industry is in trouble ? I think at this location ( Yorkdale ) it didn't help them that a Jewelry store opened right across from them that also sells very expensive watches, though the two stores seemed to carry different brand watches . The rent must have been astronomical as well because this is one of Toronto's most expensive malls (Yorkdale). I think they are doing well at another location, Square One Mall in Mississauga because they got an award there for highest sales in the Mall.

The high end Swiss Watch Industry is better than ever. They have learned from Rolex and doubled their prices in the last 6-7 years or so, their profits are beyond avarice. Most of the newer offerings from the usual makers start at around 5 grand and quickly go up from there.

For jewelry stores it's about location and clientele.
