Hello again,
I got as chance to "pounce" on a vintage Seiko from Mr. Mike Mounce, and although the wallet was thin, I could not pass it up. :undecided:
As a new vintage collector I have a question for you experts at the end, please help!
Okay, here is the box that arrived.
Tearing through the tape and cardboard, there is a "re-purposed" padded mailer seen next. (I guess Mike buys a lot of stuff from the William S. McCaw Co. here in Ohio!)
Inside the padded mailer, a bundle of bubble wrap, and I see a "tail" of something watch-like! (The excitement builds!)
Unrolling the bubble wrap a bit, it is definitely a watch with an old Seiko rubber strap, but which watch will it be!?!
Okay, another "Sword"!
This one is a 6306-7001, in very good condition, not quite as good as the 6309's and 6105 Mike sold me, but still in fine condition for punter like me!
What? You'd like a closer look? Let's see if I can do that...
Is this better? It looks to be in pretty good shape, don't you think? I should have taken a case-back picture, as that tells you vintage guys a lot. Sorry!
And you know what? I felt so bad about that, I broke out the gear and took a case-back shot as I was writing this up, just for you! Can you feel the love!?
That's the end of the show, but here is my question:
What is a 6306-7001? hmy:
I know I could Google it or check Wikipedia, but I'd rather talk with you guys!! I am guessing it precedes that 6309 series, and the case looks the same to my untrained eye, so is it just the movement? Better, worse, or just different?
Thanks for looking!
- Thomas
