You are right, It is a timeless classic. My only criticism is for the crown not being able to screw in.I was so obsessed with the idea that i drilled out the original tube and replaced it with a Tag Heuer tube and crown.I know the watch lost its originality but it looks better than the original and works perfect.I dive and swim without any worry.
Yep, that's the model I'm looking for.. And for the record the lock crown may be less "safe", but it's still the original! Probably what we all need is a daily wearer with a threaded crown and a "collectible" with the lock crown that we can pay homage to.
As Jack at IWW told me - the locking feature on the 6105 is "100% irrelevant" in terms of water intrusion (maybe as a fail safe to keep the crown from accidentally popping out). He changed the crown gasket on mine, pressure tested it - passed. I've had mine submerged countless times with no issues. As we all know there have been many high end dive watches over the years that have survived nicely with just a push-in crown (some of the old Tag Heuers come to mind).
Great review. Something to look forward to in the future for me.
