Default SEIKO VINTAGE CATALOGS - 1960s - 1980s

Below is a massive project that has been the better part of the last year in the process. Thanks to the generosity of some of our members (especially Gary Fredericks) we have been able to scan and collect a large collection of vintage seiko catalogs ranging from the late 1960s to H2 1985. We hope to add to this database as more donations from members come in. If you have any vintage catalogs you would like us to add, please let us know, we'd be happy to scan them for you.

These scans can be freely shared with any other site, provided the use is not commercial. under no circumstances may anyone copy and rehost any of these files in any other website without the express permission of SCWF! If you do link to these files, please be kind enough to link and reference the source of the material.

Unless otherwise noted, the catalogs are primarily Japanese market catalogs. Just because something does not appear in a catalog, it does not mean that seiko did not produce it or make it available in other markets.

Without further a do, here is the new catalog database:

What an incredible resource... thanks for all the effort Isthmus! Found my first watch in them catalogues and brought back memories of walking into that jewelry store every payday as a 16 year old and plunkin' down that week's payment for that beauty - an analog-digital alarm chronograph H449. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

Likewise, 1980 I bought my first Diver, a sports 100. I didn't know about auto vs quartz at that time either. And remembered how my watch was smaller than the big daddy diver 7548 the jeweler called it. Back then I was scrapping to save to buy the 100. Was interesting to see the catalog all the same. Thanks

What a fantastic resource!

Assuming the blue numbers in their thousands with a Yen sign after them were prices, my 1978 Silver Wave cost 96.29 new, using the Bank of England's historical exchange rates. That's about 460 today. And for that you got a proper metal movement with proper metal wheels that wasn't also branded as Hattori for other makers to use

I'm a new guy here on the SCWF and I just took a "walk" through the ages, as it were, viewing a couple of pages here & there. What a huge undertaking and great accomplishment too. Thank you for all of your effort in "our" behalf.

Hi There Isthmus,

This is an absolutely incredible piece of work you have here!
Do you have any idea how long and hard its taken me to find this resource?? , just punch in Seiko 80's watch catalogs and you get everything but that!!
But as is just my luck I'm looking for a gents dress watch that my Mother bought me back in 1986 or 1987 (Ashamed I've forgotten which) and was the most stunning looking timepiece I have ever owned which was stolen a couple of years later!!, and after trying to replace it and giving up after being told by one of many jewelers that it was hopeless to replace without the 'Model Number' no matter how good a drawing or description I had of it !!

This watch has been on my mind recently and so after all you have done I have to ask if you intend on extending your list to include the 1986-1987..?? as these are the years I need in order to obtain a model number for the piece and then perhaps having a better chance of tracking it down from there, or can you let me know how I can obtain these catalogs myself..?? I've tried everything and your listings are the closest I've been to coming anywhere near! (Many thanks for that)
I await your reply wise one O:-)

Amazing. It must have taken ages to do all these. This is just a few lines to let you know how much it's appreciated. Thank you.

You would not imagine how excited I was when I saw the watch that I've been searching for in the 1985 catalogue. It's on pg.14 CJA976. I bought this watch in 1987 in Venezuela for $100 US. and lost it in 2007. That's 22

yrs. of service. The only things I ever changed were the battery and band. Talk about a classy watch, it matched with almost every outfit I wore. I've bought another Seiko watch but it cannot compare to this one.

I would like to purchase one like it used or new. Can anyone help.

Hi very nice collection, I really love it.
But I can-t find the automatic diver series like 6309 or 6306 or 6105.
I only can find quartz divers like 7548, in wich catalogues are the automatic divers?
Thanks

Well, page 44 of 1976-V1 has the 6105, page 41 of 1978-V1 has the 6306. you won't find in these manual any references of the 6309 as this model was never meant for the domestic market.

What an amazing project, thank you! I can't imagine how long and difficult it was to collect it all, but WOW!

Know anyone who might have the USA Catalog of Pulsar watches from 1980's? Had one ladies watch as a gift and lost it, would really like to acquire an identical watch but don't remember the model number. I've attached the image found online of the watch face. Can't find it in any online auctions or web sites.
